Terms to Understand

Area Marshal

Volunteer University employee with responsibility to:

• Consolidate information about buildings from Building Marshals.
• Ensure all buildings have been checked.
• Inform EOC / University Police of all incident status changes.

Building Marshal

Volunteer University employee with responsibility to:

• Consolidate information about building from Floor Marshals.
• Ensure all floors have been checked.
• Inform Area Marshal of all incident status changes.

Floor Marshal

Volunteer University employee with responsibility to:

• Assist/ensure occupants evacuate building.
• Keep track of injured, persons moved to the stairwell or those who refuse to leave.
• Inform Building Marshal of all status changes.
• Keep evacuated persons out of building until building is cleared.

Campus Closure

When a "Campus Closure" is declared:

• Students are to leave the campus.
• Employees shall remain on campus until the end of their assigned workday.

Campus Evacuation

Under an immediate threat, campus community will immediately leave campus.
