Sustainability Committee

Our Approach

• Collaboration: Our work embodies the efforts of students, faculty, and staff in promoting campus-wide engagement. The department includes community members to influence the neighborhoods where former, present, and future Yoties work and live.
• Sustainability Committee: The Committee oversees policy recommendations and reviews the progress of various Working Groups, sharing their findings and suggestions with key decision-makers, including President Morales. Co-chaired by the Energy and Sustainability Manager and a faculty member, the Sustainability Committee actively engages the campus community in sustainability initiatives, such as the Resilient CSUSB Plan. The committee ensures the effective implementation of this Plan, establishing Working Groups to tackle specific actions that support its objectives.
• Working Groups: The three Working Groups focus on the goals and actions in the following areas: energy, food, and waste. The members of the working groups report to the Committee quarterly on their progress. Group members identify steps, timeframes, and resources before participating in accomplishing the tasks.
