Art Exhibition Opening Receptions
RAFFMA exhibits several art shows each year. The museum celebrates each show with a reception that is free and open to the public. Parking $6. Receptions are usually held on Saturdays or Thursday evenings.

RAFFMA-WEEN
When: October

This fun-filled, family-friendly night at the museum will be held for one evening in late October. RAFFMA turns down the lights and strings up the cobwebs for an educational evening inspired by the museum’s permanent display of ancient Egyptian artifacts. This Halloween-alternative event consists of a spooky night tour, a museum scavenger hunt, crafts, and a costume contest. Guests are strongly encouraged to come dressed in their spookiest attire.

International Museum Day
When: May 18

International Museum Day is a celebration that is held worldwide each year on or around May 18. From America and Oceania to Europe, Asia and Africa, International Museum Day aims to increase public awareness about the role of museums in the development of society.

Visit our Events page to find out how RAFFMA will be celebrating.

Annual CSUSB Student Art Exhibition
When: Friday evening of graduation weekend, June

RAFFMA hosts the CSUSB Department of Art's student exhibition. Students making artwork in all genres submit their work from the past academic year. An outside juror, selected by the Department of Art, curates the exhibition. An awards ceremony and opening reception accompany each exhibition. This event is free and open to the public. Parking $6.

Kids Discover Egypt: 2-Day Art Workshop
When: July

Each year the RAFFMA organizes Kids Discover Egypt: 2-Day Art Workshop. This popular program for children ages 9-12 draws students from neighboring communities throughout San Bernardino County. The workshop includes many hands-on activities and a special tour of the art museum's extensive collection of Egyptian antiquities.
Participating students learn about Egyptian history, culture and art. Led by CSUSB faculty, RAFFMA staff, and trained docents, children participate in a variety of art projects including a staged-archeological dig, molding clay figurines and making beads out of authentic ancient Egyptian molds.
Space is limited. Registration form and a workshop fee are required. Friends of RAFFMA and CSUSB students, staff, and faculty receive a discount. Registration forms are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
