MSA Online Information for Admitted Students

Offer of Admission

Upon acceptance, students receive an offer of admission which includes a Letter of Acknowledgement and a Student Handbook. Save this communication for its wealth of important program details. Sign and return the Letter of Acknowledgement as soon as you can to get the most out of pre-program opportunities.

The Online MSA program admits student cohorts in Fall semester. Shortly before classes start, you’ll receive information from the Program Specialist for registration, payments, drop and refund dates, etc. Students attend a mandatory orientation, in virtual format, which happens just before the first day of classes. Student academic advising is handled by the faculty, Program Advisor and Program Director, whom you’ll meet during orientation.

Click on the Course Schedule and Dates page (button to the right) for Important Dates, CEGE Drop and Refund Policies, and more details that promote your success in the Online MSA program!

Student Handbook

Your Student Handbook brims with useful information to guide you through your Online MSA experience. Keep it handy for policies, dates, instructions, personnel contact information, and other details.

Financial Aid

Online MSA students may be eligible for federal financial aid. In addition, we offer alternative loans with pre-approved providers. Please navigate to our Financing Page (Click on the URL or paste in in your browser search bar: https://www.csusb.edu/pace/home/financing-your-education) for more information and our school code for your FAFSA. Also check the Online MSA main webpage for potential financial workshop resources. To get started, click the Fees and Financing button on the upper right of this page.

Payment Deadlines and Fee Refunds:

Course tuition is due before classes start. You’ll receive a reminder with information on how to pay your fees. Fee deadlines can be found on the Course Schedule and Dates page, by clicking on the blue button to the right.

It is YOUR responsibility to know the policies, deadlines and important dates for the Program. Staff are here to help you succeed – don’t hesitate to reach out!

The College of Extended and Global Education refund policy is as follows:

  • Drop a course before the first day of class = 100% refund and $25 admin fee
  • Drop a course on the first day of class and through CENSUS = 65% refund and $25 admin fee
  • Drop a course after CENSUS = no refund and $25 admin fee

NOTE this refund policy differs from the CSUSB refund policies for undergraduate students.

If fees are not paid at the time of a drop, the amount owed will be posted to the student's account as overdue and future registration will not be permitted.

Awarded Federal Financial aid in the form of loans is distributed automatically to the student's account. Any amount remaining after covering posted fees will be returned to the student. You do not need to "pre-pay" for your posted fees is you are anticipating financial aid. Let your Program Specialist know that you are expecting aid to avoid getting a "past due" email. (Note that student accounts in your myCoyote student center may show "balance past due" until all payments are made, even if you have an in-fore payment plan.)

Make a Payment

Use this form to make a payment for your MS in Accountancy classes. (Click on the URL or paste it in  your browser search bar: https://celmarketing.wufoo.com/forms/accounting-certificate-payment-form/ Payments are due 7 days before the start of classes each semester. You'll receive a receipt and confirmation of your payment. For payment status updates, you may contact the Student Services desk at 909-537-5975 during normal business hours. (NOTE: Campus is closed Fridays from June 10-August 5, 2023.)

New Student Orientation

One of your first experiences as a Online MSA student will be the Student Orientation.  You'll meet your Program Director and Advisor, and some of your faculty. And best of all, you'll get to know your fellow students and start to develop your academic networks. The Orientation date will be sent about one week before classes begin.

Class Registration

Your Program Specialist will register you in classes for your first semester shortly after you return your Letter of Acknowledgement. You'll be registered in ALL available courses for the first semester unless you communicate you want to be on the flex track (which will extend your program to three years).

In mid-October of your first semester, you'll receive an email with a form to request your Spring classes. You'll receive invitations to request your classes each semester of the program. This allows you to manage your own schedule, based on the Program Plan you developed with your Academic Advisor during the first semester of your program. Students can only register for the final culminating portfolio course in their last Fall semester.

Student Success

Students will receive guidance for activating your myCoyote student account, including email, campus resources and access to our learning system, Canvas. Canvas contains numerous video tutorials you can use ahead of classes to get familiar with the system.

YOUR success!
