Administration Business Analytics, BA

Today, while business leaders are looking for tremendous amounts of information, they also need trained employees who know how to source, clean, analyze and visualize data to maximize its value. The BA in Business Analytics provides the foundation needed to transform a maze of numbers into well-informed data driven decisions. In addition to providing students with fundamental big data resource and infrastructure management skills, this program is designed to provide students with exposure to applied areas (specifically: Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Supply Chain Management) through specific degree requirements. This program cultivates organizational and technical competencies to implement data gathering, cleansing, integrating and modeling tasks, as well as data asset analysis for business applications. The BA in Business Analytics also covers data warehousing, dimensional modeling, big data analytics methods, and visualization tools and techniques, and it introduces topics such as data mining and predictive analytics. Employment opportunity for Business Analytics majors are diverse and students can work in areas such as healthcare, finance, information technology, telecommunications, consulting, data analytics, marketing, manufacturing, human resources, government, and many more.

Administration Information Security, BA 

Information security refers to everything one must do to protect information assets from danger. Such dangers can include but are nor limited to unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, destruction or theft of data or information. It could be one's own personal or an organization’s information assets. And it could also be internally within an organization or in cyberspace on the Internet. Our nationally recognized information security concentration provides students the knowledge and technical skills needed to secure, monitor, protect and defend attacks to an individual or organization’s information assets i.e., databases, software, networks, and information systems.

This program is designed to provide students with analytical knowledge and tools of integrating value-adding components in organizations operations, purchasing, transportation, information technology, warehousing, and distribution for enhancing their competitiveness. Students will be skilled in developing frameworks for strategic planning, controlling, and improving value creating processes in private and public organizations. This degree program focuses on the practical applications of logistics and supply chain management knowledge and analytical techniques to effectively solve organizations problems. Students graduating from this program will be prepared for a variety of logistics and supply chain management positions such as, Director of Supply Chain Operations, Performance Improvement Manager, Logistics and Supply Chain Analyst, Sourcing and Purchasing Director, Commodity Manager, Warehouse and Transportation Manager, Distribution Manager, Operations Manager, or Systems Manager.

Information Systems & Technology Business Intelligence and Analytics, BS

Business Intelligence and Analytics refers to the procedural and technical ways of collecting storing and analyzing the data produced by a company’s activities. It encompasses data mining, process analysis, performance evaluation and benchmarking and measuring the trends for making better decisions. Students will learn how to use analytics techniques for business intelligence purposes, while developing the critical thinking skills required to gain insights from arrange of data sources.

Information Systems & Technology Cyber Security, BS

Across the nation, employers are struggling to find qualified workers to fill the major gaps in the cybersecurity workforce. In California alone, there are more than 72,000 job openings, with almost 1,600 job openings in San Bernardino County (figures from CyberSeek’s Cybersecurity Supply And Demand Heat Map, https://www.cyberseek.org/heatmap.html

The national figures are even more bleak, with more than 500,000 unfilled cybersecurity positions. This number is significantly increasing.

The Department of Information and Decision Sciences houses the highly regarded, nationally recognized cybersecurity program. Our program is designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. Our innovative programs and their applied learning approach appeals to students who are both technical and policy oriented.  Highly regarded for innovation in curriculum, CSUSB students are often sought after by major employers and government.
