The CSUSB baseball and track and field teams closed out their seasons with record-breaking performances. The baseball team advanced to the Division II College World Series, and in track and field, four student-athletes made it to the NCAA Division II track and field championships, competing in the 4x100 meter relay and the 200-meter dash.

Sariyah Copeland and Alexis White, along with the 4X100 relay team consisting of Mahlaya Salter, Alexis, Sariyah, and Hailey Hunt, set a program record in the preliminaries with a 45.59 clocking, beating the previous record of 45.82 set at the CCAA conference championships. They earned sixth place in their heat and 11th overall.

In the CCAA conference championships, the track and field team finished fourth overall this year, producing the most points in the event (77) of any Coyote team since the program began in 2015.

The baseball team advanced to the Division II College World Series, falling to Rollins College in the national semifinals by a score of 8-10. The 2023 team has cemented themselves as the greatest team in program history, collecting a program best 46 wins, breaking 31 school records, and making their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament in their 32-year Division II history.

Senior DeShawn Johnson collected his eighth three-hit game of the season, bringing his season total to 101 hits, breaking the CSUSB single-season record (84) and leading all of the Division II this season. Johnson also scored four runs, ranking him second in the nation with 88 in the season.
