Fall 2020 Statistics

CSUSB student population – 19,404 (FTES 16,757)

3,618 (19%) students take at least 1 unit at the Palm Desert Campus.


CSUSB students come from:

  • 87% – San Bernardino and Riverside counties
  • 7% – other California counties
  • 6% – other countries
  • <1% – out-of-state

Highlights of the 19,404 students:

  • 12,167 (63%) – female
  • 7,237 (37%) – male
  • 88% seeking an undergraduate degree
  • 82% attend on a full-time basis
  • 81% are first-generation college students (parents without a bachelor's degree)
  • 58% of our undergraduates are low-income students (Pell Grant recipients)

Our current student success measures are as follows:

  • First-to-second year retention rate of first time full-time freshmen is 85%,
  • Four year graduation rate is 25% and
  • Six-year graduation rate is 59%.
