Power to the San Bernardino campus has been restored as of 9:55 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume Friday, July 26th. Essential staff with questions on whether to report should contact their appropriate administrator. Facilities Management will be working to check all building systems including HVAC, elevators and fire alarms. If power has not been restored in your work area when you return, please report that to Facilities Planning and Management at (909) 537-5175. The Palm Desert Campus remains open and operational.

Become a Writing Tutor

If you are an outstanding CSBS student, you may have what it takes to be a Writing Lab tutor.

Qualified applicants will have:

  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Responsibility and maturity
  • Knowledge of APA and/or Chicago citation style
  • A major within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • An Overall GPA of 3.50 or higher

Tutoring positions pay $16/hour for undergraduates and $18/hour for graduate students. Students may work up to 20 hours/week. Preference will be given to applicants who can work 10 hours or more per week.

Please note that you will be asked to upload a copy of your résumé or CV and a sample paper that demonstrates your ability to write in the Social Sciences. Please have these documents ready before starting the application.  A clean copy of a research paper previously submitted in one of your CSBS courses is preferred for the writing sample.
