2022-2023 Donor Impact Report

A message from the Vice President

Dear Coyote community:

I’m proud to share the 2022-2023 donor impact report on behalf of California State University, San Bernardino. This report demonstrates the remarkable generosity of the CSUSB community—my colleagues and I are inspired by donors like you who fervently believe in CSUSB students and the university’s mission to advance the region.

These numbers reflect a successful first year of the public phase of Our Defining Moment: A Campaign for CSUSB. Over $6 million was given by nearly 4,000 donors to fund 370 various CSUSB scholarships and initiatives. In addition, 54% of these donors were first-time supporters of CSUSB. We are thrilled to welcome 2,100 new members into our donor family and honored by their dedication to support the Coyote community in big and small ways.

Giving comes in many forms, and we are energized by the 2,500 Coyote alumni who volunteered over 3,000 hours to uplift our surrounding communities through various projects and initiatives. The high engagement shared amongst our alumni showcases the lifelong impact of a CSUSB experience and this community’s commitment to service and connection.

Most importantly, our collective work resulted in roughly 4,600 predominantly first-generation students earning bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from CSUSB this academic year. Obtaining a college degree can be the key to overcoming generational poverty, inequality, and opportunity scarcity—a donation to CSUSB is an investment in the advancement of our present and future generations, both near and far.

Thank you for your continued investment in our university community and all it represents. With your support, CSUSB will continue to pursue its Defining Moment and help current and future Coyotes reach their fullest potential.

With Coyote Pride,

Robert J. Nava, J.D., CFRE
