Why Does CSUSB need my gift?

In years past, state funds covered almost all operational costs for all the CSU’s. However, due to state and federal budget cuts, only a portion of the university’s total budget is covered by the state’s general fund. Private philanthropy closes that financial gap by providing students with critical resources and the institution with sustained investments that allow it to continue to be a global leader in education.

Does the size of my gift matter to CSUSB?

Every donation matters! Your gift of any size provides CSUSB students with a quality education and an enriching college experience.

How will my gift be utilized?

You can direct your gift to benefit any college, school, or program at CSUSB. Please contact Directing your Gift to see which initiatives best correspond with your philanthropic interest. Is my gift tax deductible?

CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

Who do I speak with about my gift?

The Office of Donor Relations is eager to assist you with any general questions related to your giving and donor experience. What are the different ways I can give?

You may give to CSUSB via debit or credit cards, check (made payable to CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation), or cash; by contributing securities, real estate, or other personal property; by making a qualified distribution from your Individual Retirement Account; and by naming the CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation as a beneficiary in your will or trust or through other planned giving arrangements.

How do I set up a monthly recurring donation?

Visit CSUSB’s online giving form, choose the “recurring” option when prompted, and check the “Make My Gift Monthly” box before entering your gift amount or type. Monthly donations may be adjusted at any time by contacting the Office of Donor Relations at donorrelations@csusb.edu or 909.537.5499. Updates will be processed within three business days.

How do I include CSUSB in my estate plans?

The Office of Planned Giving can help you create or update your estate plan to mutually benefit CSUSB students, you, and your surviving loved ones. To learn more, visit CSUSB’s planned giving website, or contact the Office of Planned Giving at planmylegacy@csusb.edu or 855.204.0049.

How do I make an anonymous donation?

We are happy to respect your wishes to donate anonymously. Please contact the Office of Donor Relations at donorrelations@csusb.edu or 909.537.5499 to provide your name, the fund name and gift amount (or type), and a statement that you wish to remain anonymous for the gift.

Are there fees associated with giving?

A 5% fee is assessed on each gift to help defray the administrative costs incurred in operating CSUSB’s foundation.
