
Neal Malik, associate professor and director of the master in public health program, uses his national podcast to educate listeners and also promote CSUSB as a leader in the fields of health and nutrition.

Stuart Sumida (biology) served as a consultant on a new TV series, “Jane,” Angie Otiniano Verissimo (health science and human ecology) is one of the moderators for a program with activist Angela Davis, and Leslie Amodeo (psychology) led a team of researchers from CSUSB that examined one of two core symptoms associated with autism spectrum disorder.

Through her activism and scholarship over many decades, Angela Davis has been deeply involved in movements for social justice around the world. Come see her speak at noon on April 17 in the Santos Manuel Student Union.

Neal Malik (health science and human ecology) weighed in for an article on healthier options at fast-food restaurants, and William Van Dyke (lecturer, health science and human ecology) was a speaker at the Dec. 2 Day of Remembrance ceremony.

The recipients of the award are Mahmood Nikbakhtzadeh, assistant professor of health science and human ecology; Jacob Jones, associate professor of psychology; José A. Muñoz, associate professor of sociology; and Mariam Betlemidze, associate professor of communication studies.

The need for a youth weight management program comes as 40% of children in the San Bernardino County have obesity or are overweight. As part of the Youth Weight Management Program, an online survey has been launched to determine adolescents’ and their caregivers’ needs.
