An immersive, virtual experience, “Gaza Unveiled” will present pre- and post-war realities of Gaza. The two-day event at Cal State San Bernardino will take place from noon-5 p.m. Feb. 12 and 13.

Presented by The Phoenix of Gaza XR Team, with support from the Extended REALity for Learning (xREAL) Lab at CSUSB, the virtual event will take place at the Santos Manuel Student Union North Conference Center A and E on Monday, Feb. 12, and at the Faculty Center for Excellence, Pfau Library, room PL-4005, on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The virtual exhibit documents “the daily transactions, resilience and resistance of the remarkable people living under a 16-year-old blockade,” according to organizers. “Immerse yourself in the vibrancy of life as it once thrived in Gaza. Yet, be prepared to witness the aftermath of destruction that continues to unfold, offering a sobering reminder of the challenges faced by this resilient community.”

The exhibit will include visits to iconic sites such as “the Orthodox Church, the Omari Mosque, the bustling streets of the Beach Camp, and the solemn Unknown Soldier Square.”

Event sponsors include the CSUSB Center for the Study of Arab & Muslim Worlds, the CSUSB Department of Communication Studies, the CSUSB Muslim Student Association, and the Palestinian, Arab and Muslim Caucus of the California Faculty Association.
