CSUSB professor consults on new Apple TV+ series ‘Jane’

Stuart Sumida, CSUSB professor of biology and expert on anatomy and locomotion, worked with the creators of “Jane,” Apple TV+’s live-action/CGI hybrid series inspired by the life and work of Dr. Jane Goodall, which begins streaming on April 14. Matt Bishop, of the Jane Goodall Institute and one of the series’ executive producers, said the series crew spent more than 25 hours in lectures and locomotion studies with Sumida.


Political activist Angela Davis to speak at California State University, San Bernardino

Angie Otiniano Verissimo, CSUSB associate professor of health science and human ecology, will be one of the moderators of a Cal State San Bernardino program that features political activist, philosopher, academic and author Angela Davis, who will speak at noon Monday, April 17.

Leslie Amodeo (psychology) led a team of researchers from CSUSB that examined one of two core symptoms associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD): the presence of restricted, repetitive behaviors (RRBs), which “are commonly linked to a lack of behavioral flexibility, having a significant negative impact on daily functioning for ASD individuals and their caregivers,” the abstract reads.
