Power to the San Bernardino campus has been restored as of 9:55 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume Friday, July 26th. Essential staff with questions on whether to report should contact their appropriate administrator. Facilities Management will be working to check all building systems including HVAC, elevators and fire alarms. If power has not been restored in your work area when you return, please report that to Facilities Planning and Management at (909) 537-5175. The Palm Desert Campus remains open and operational.

Negin Ghaffari


I am a second year student at the Master in Arts Psychological Sciences program. My research interest is childhood trauma and resilience factors among minority populations. My passion for this topic was fueled by my own personal experience as a refugee coming to the United States. This experience also motivates me to be part of the OSR, so I can give back to my community in a meaningful way.

What are you looking forward to for the 23/24 academic school year?

  • I am excited for all the awesome events that the Office of Student Research has planned for students on campus. On a personal level, be able to finish my thesis project and start collecting data.

List 2-3 interesting facts about you

  • I love volunteering and giving back to the community. I have an Akita/ Chow Chow dog named Dutch and I am passionate about nutrition and health. My favorite food is any Persian food and I enjoy going on walks or hiking is very relaxing to me.
