Online Teaching Summer Institutes
In response to the shift to online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, the ISSUES-X project team facilitated a five-day faculty institute on best pedagogical practices for teaching online. We facilitated three separate cohorts for this FLC.
Mini Faculty Learning Communities
During Fall 2019 and Winter 2020 we ran three 6-month-long “mini” FLCs focused on helping faculty prepare for teaching new courses after our transition from quarters to semesters in Fall 2020.
- Large-lecture FLC: investigating strategies for engaging students in large-lecture courses
- Foundations Seminar FLC: Supporting faculty who were developing first-year seminars for this new general education category.
- Writing Intensive course FLC: Supporting faculty who were developing disciplinary writing-intensive courses as part of the new curriculum for semesters
