Develop your outdoor leadership skills through this interactive and exciting course. Participants will be learning both leadership and technical skills in classroom sessions and on outdoors trips. Technical skills include equipment, food preparation, logistics and clothing needs. Leadership topics include decision making, critical thinking, informal interpretation, teaching skills, leadership qualities and styles. Take this opportunity to expand your leadership abilities in the outdoors. This course is required to apply and interview to become a Volunteer CSUSB Adventure Leader.

Our training trip will take place on the Colorado River below Hover Dam where we will canoe and hike. Click here for more info on the training. 

Prerequisites
In order to register for the Adventure Leader Program course, you must be CSUSB student, faculty or staff, have a CA Driver License, pass a background check, and have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

Food
3 meals are included, starting with lunch on day 1 (1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner)
1 meal are not included (1 lunch) 

1 lunch is included.
Dinner of the way home is not provided. Bring money. 

Hygiene and Comfort
Restrooms and drinking water will be readily available day 1 and the morning of day 2. We will be carrying our all our food, water, and equipment in canoes. We use vault toilets at the trailhead and campsite night 3 and 4. We will bring water from CSUSB. We will practice leave no trace when needing to dispose of human waste as not toilets are available. You will have the option to share a tent with one or two people or sleep out under the cover of the stars.  Light weight tents, warm synthetic sleeping bags, foam pads and ground tarps will be provided to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The ground consists of soft and hard soil.
