Army ROTC and Undergraduate Nursing
Army ROTC can offer you unique nursing opportunities while receiving financial assistance for college. You will gain valuable leadership experience and management training that can benefit you in either a military or private-sector nursing career.
Nurse Scholarships
The Army ROTC program offers two-, three- or four-year scholarships for undergraduate Nursing students. Contact your high school academic advisor or campus Military Science department for more information.
Nurse Incentive Program
In addition to scholarships for qualified nursing students, the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is offering cash bonuses as part of its Nurse Incentive Program. And, once you graduate, receive a commission in the Army Nurse Corps and pass the National Council of State Board of Nursing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), you'll be guaranteed a job as a nurse and an active duty Officer, a leader in today's Army.
The Nurse Incentive Program has two phases:
In Phase 1, you can receive up to $5,000 (depending on your cumulative GPA) if you've signed a contract, successfully entered the Army ROTC Advanced Course, and if you are accepted into the upper level program of your nursing school, the final two years of your nursing curriculum.
In Phase 2, you can receive an additional incentive payment of up to $7,500 (depending on your cumulative GPA) if you graduate and receive your commission as an Army Nurse Corps Officer, and if you successfully complete the NCLEX-RN within 60 days of graduation. Phase 2 will be effective for nurse cadets graduating in school year 2005 - 2006.
Nurse Summer Training Program (NSTP)
Army ROTC Nurse Cadets have an opportunity for a unique summer nursing experience. The paid, three-week Nurse Summer Training Program assigns Cadets to Army hospitals throughout the U.S. and Germany. To learn more click on special schools
