Introduction

The title of this exhibition – Re|Collect is meant to emphasize the process of shaping and revealing the self through telling stories. These stories are often crafted in a moment, as a dialogue between teller and listener, when somebody thinks to ask where we come from, who we are now, and what we’ve seen along the way. Simultaneously, the Anthropology Museum takes this exhibition as a starting point for investing in the community as a repository – a collection of valued individuals, experiences, and lives that together reflect the beauty and depth of the human experience.Beth Branson Wiggins, John St Clair, Angela Moreno
