California State University, San Bernardino uses class section numbers to help identify instruction modes. They are also used to help identify if a section is located at the San Bernardino Campus (SBC) or the Palm Desert Campus (PDC).

Reserved for face-to-face sections. These include instruction modes: P and OC.
Reserved for online sections. These include instruction modes: OL, OS, HO, CA, and CS.
Reserved for College of Extended & Global Education sections.
PDC Class Section Breakdown
Section Numbers 80-99
Reserved for face-to-face lecture, seminar, and supervision sections. These include instruction modes: P and OC.
Reserved for online lecture, seminar, and supervision sections. These include instruction modes: OL and OS.
Reserved for face-to-face lab, activity, and clinical sections. These include instruction modes: P and OC.
Reserved for hybrid lecture, seminar, and supervision sections. These include instruction modes: CA and CS.
