Bio

Dr. Juan earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2023. She worked with CSU East Bay as a tenure track faculty for a year and then decided to move to San Bernardino. Before coming to California, she was a nursing faculty at British Columbia Institute of Technology BSN program in Canada for 11 years. Her clinical background is in critical care. She practiced in adult ICUs for more than 15 years.

Dr. Juan's research is focused on simulation, especially virtual and virtual reality simulation, curriculum evaluation, and nursing students' well-being. She was granted the Early Career Research Award in 2024 by the Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) for her virtual simulation project. Meanwhile, she also collaborated with the faculty from the Computer Science department at CSUEB to create VR scenarios in promoting patient safety in the acute care setting. The project was granted by the CSUEB College of Science Collaborative Research Grant.

Dr. Juan is excited to join the CSUSB Nursing Family and is looking forward to collaborating with everyone in teaching and research.
