Bio

Lynnette Kobernik received her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in oboe performance from the University of Redlands.  She earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from UCLA.  She free-lances as a performer on the oboe and English horn throughout southern California, playing most frequently with the San Bernardino Symphony.  Dr. Kobernik maintains a studio of private oboe students, and has written her own beginning oboe method and subsequent books of duets for them.  She enjoyed teaching music appreciation classes at Riverside Community College for five years, and has also been on the faculty of numerous other universities, including La Sierra University, UC Riverside, Cal Baptist College, and Cal State San Bernardino.  When she is not practicing, performing, teaching, or making reeds, Lynnette loves to spend time with her family or up in the mountains hiking, cycling, or running.
