Ken Shultz

Dr. Shultz is a Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology and Faculty Affiliate of the Center on Aging at California State University, San Bernardino. He is also the current Department Chair for Psychology (August 2023 to August 2026) at CSUSB. His MA and PhD degrees are in Industrial and Organizational (IO) Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He also completed post-doctoral work in social gerontology as a National Institute on Aging Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Andrus Gerontology Center at the University of Southern California. Professor Shultz teaches classes in IO psychology, research methods, psychological testing, and statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate level. He is the former Director of the Master of Science in IO Psychology program and Coordinator for the Undergraduate IO Psychology Concentration. He has published 58 peer reviewed articles, four books, and 21 book chapters on a variety of topics, most recently focusing on aging workforce and retirement issues. He has published in journals such as the American Psychologist, Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and Work, Employment, and Society. He was the recipient of the 2014-15 John M. Pfau Outstanding Professor Award at CSUSB and completed a Fulbright US Specialist Award to Massey University in New Zealand in October 2023.
