Bio

Jurgita Abromaviciute received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Arizona in 2018. Abromaviciute’s research primarily focuses on revealing status-based inequality mechanisms. Her most recent study, funded by the National Science Foundation, combined a résumé experiment and qualitative interviews to examine how partnership status (whether a job candidate is married or single) modifies the motherhood penalty and the fatherhood premium at the workplace. Her other published collaborative research projects are in the areas of social neuroscience and social movements.
