Bio

Dr. Anahid S. Modrek is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at CSUSB and Principal Investigator directing the Learning to Learn (L2L) Lab. Dr. Modrek's research expertise spans socio-cognitive theory informing the development of children's and adolescents' reasoning, learning, and academic achievement. Dr. Modrek received her PhD in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University (2016), BA from UC Berkeley (2011), and served as a 2021 Deeper Learning Fellow with the American Education Research Association (AERA) funded by the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation in collaboration with the American Institutes for Research (AIR). Prior to her current appointment she was tenure line at Thomas Jefferson University, where she was awarded the 2023 Provost's Early Career Faculty Achievement Award. Dr. Modrek completed a micro-sabbatical at Princeton Psychology for the Spring 2023 semester. Dr. Modrek currently serves as an Editorial Fellow for APA journal, Developmental Psychology.
