Your next mosquito repellent might already be in your shower

Seyed Mahmood Nikbakht Zadeh, a chemical ecologist and medical entomologist at CSU San Bernardino, was interviewed for an article about bath soap possibly being a mosquito repellent for some people. A small study, in which Zadeh was not involved, has found that certain soaps can make people less attractive to mosquitoes, but it probably won't work for everyone.


Data released by FBI shows hate crimes across America escalated at alarming rate in 2021

Brian Levin, director of CSUSB’s Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, was quoted in an article about the latest FBI hate crime report showing a 12% increase of such incidents from 2020 to 2021.

The hate crime numbers now include Los Angeles and New York and other large departments, and the total is the highest level in decades, said Levin. “We are in a unique and disturbing era where hate crimes overall stay elevated for longer punctuated by broken records,” he said.
