Advising

CSUSB offers a number of number of important advising services, both within and outside of the Ethnic Studies Department

Students should begin mapping out their courses and pathway to earning the ES minor or major by seeking assistance through the Mentor Advising Center (MAC) .

MAC offers academic advising to undergraduate Social & Behavioral Science students in the following majors: Criminal Justice, Economics, History, Political Science, Social Sciences, and Sociology. It is located in faculty Office Building in room FO-145. Trained Mentor Advisors are prepared to help you select classes, plan a quarter schedule, and propose a long term Education Plan tailored to meet your needs. You can reach the MAC at 909.537.5518 or by email at themac@csusb.edu. More information about the advising center is available here: Advising

In addition to meeting with advisors in the MAC, Ethnic Studies students are also assigned an advisor among the faculty in Ethnic Studies (please see the table below). Students are encouraged to meet regularly with faculty advisors as well as any faculty member in the ES department to discuss course goals, graduation trajectory, career advising, and any other questions students may have pertaining to the ES minor or major.
