The Violet-green Swallow is a rare migrant on campus and has been recorded from late February to early May and from July to September. It is a common breeding bird in the mountains, and a common migrant and rare wintering bird throughout southern California.High Count: 25, Average Count: 2The Violet-green Swallow can be identified by its iridescent green crown and upperparts, and white face, underparts, and rump. It can be distinguished from the similar Tree Swallow by its white face and rump.
