Brian Levin, criminal justice professor and director of CSUSB’s Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, was quoted in several radio segments on KFI AM and KPCC-FM regarding hate crimes in Orange County, which have gone up almost 90 percent over the last five years.
Levin says hate crimes are most motivated by race followed by religion then sexual orientation.
“Over the last dozen years, the month that had the highest number of hate crimes were around elections,” Levin said in one of the segments.
