Our MA in Art is a 30 semester-unit graduate degree, both with courses that embrace
the multiplicity of artistic expression enhanced with graduate-level critical art history /
global cultures courses. Designed to engage artists from a diverse range of
backgrounds and experiences, our graduate student community encourages intense
experimentation with the freedom to work in any medium or range of materials and
- MA students enjoy field trips and special projects such as group exhibitions, public art and community-based projects in the Inland Empire and Los Angeles art communities, as well as numerous visiting art professionals throughout the year.
- MA students are able concentrate on their studio art practice with intensity and depth in order to develop a viable portfolio to apply for the MFA degree.
- MA students engage in comprehensive professional development and leave the program ready to pursue the next steps to their careers as college professors, artists, critics, curators, teachers, community leaders, production artists, and more.
The flexibility of the MA degree in studio art allows for artists from all paths to elevate
