Student Leader Testimonials
Maribel Lepiz, Resident Assistant
"Being RA has given me many useful skills that I can apply here on campus academically and outside of school in a more professional setting. It’s given me the opportunity to grow in my social and problem solving skills. This position has also given me the chance to meet some incredible people including residents and others apart of the RA/AM team. Additionally, it’s made me realize how much I enjoy arts and crafts and collaborating with others on programs. "
Daisy Dominguez, Academic Mentor
“As an Academic Mentor, I've had the privilege of forging deep, meaningful connections with residents, faculty members, and fellow student leaders. In my role, I engage in one-on-one interactions with residents, offering guidance and resources to support their personal and academic growth. My time at DHRE has been instrumental in honing valuable skills such as patience, effective communication, and attentive listening. Every connection I've formed with a resident has not only contributed to my personal growth but has also ignited my passion for pursuing a career as a counselor."
Jose Medina Gonzalez, Resident Assistant
"Although this was my first year as a Residence Assistant, I have valued my time here as well as making the strong connections I did with my residents and team. I was able to learn more about myself and learn how to create an impactful and meaningful environment for those around me and how to be an important asset for my residents and other residents to confide in. Overall, my position here has taught me a lot, and I am truly thankful for that."
