Three Grad Students Present at Conference in Mexico City

Please join me in congratulating three of our grad students for getting their papers accepted for presentation at the Conferencias Jóvenes con Futuro (Young People with a Future) Conference in Mexico City. They are Luis Esparza and his presentation is titled “Globalization, Modernity, and Queer Theory: A Decolonial Intervention.” Francisco Rodriquez is presenting a paper titled “Colorism in the Workplace.” While Shane Burrell is presenting a paper titled “Virtual Reality and Identity Politics.” While all presentations were put together independently, they were developed with guidance from their mentors Dr. Conlisk-Gallegos, Dr. Saavedra, and Dr. Popescu. The event is hosted by a number of universities including UNAM.
