Eduroam Certificate Update

Trust for eduroam Certificates

You may encounter a certificate warning when first connecting to eduroam, or whenever the server certificate for eduroam is updated.

Your device will prompt to trust a certificate because it difficult to know in advance that eduroam network should identify itself as netauth.csusb.edu

Security

To ensure security, ensure that the certificate's

  1. name ends .csusb.edu
  2. issuer is InCommon or USERTrust  (USERTrust is the authority over InCommon)

A change in either the name or the issuer could incidate a security problem that should be reported to the Techology Support Center

 

Trusting eduroam Certificates on iOS

Follow the steps under Security (above) when prompted. After verification, select Trust.

Select Accept Certificate > Select Trust. You will be connected to Eduroam.
