Resilient CSUSB Plan

Def. resilience - Resilience is the ability of a system or community to survive disruption and to anticipate, adapt, and flourish in the face of change.

With a vision to build, operate, and nurture a healthier more resilient community for the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses, the emerging Office of Sustainability is facilitating the building of the Resilient CSUSB Plan. Launched October 2017 the planning effort will enlist campus wide engagement and will be built around Roadmaps focused on Energy, Water, Food & Waste, Education & Sustainable Community, Transportation & Mobility, and Land Use & Buildings.

Through the use of dedicated Working Groups all Roadmaps discussed above will outline specific strategies, actions, timeframes, and resources aimed at achieving long term goals like Net Zero/Net Positive targets. All Roadmaps will be reviewed and refined by the two campus Taskforce groups.

Everyone is invited to participate in the planning through our surveys, events, & Submit an Idea. The Office of Sustainability is also developing the Resilient CSUSB Portal that will provide ongoing reporting, intake of new ideas and points of refinement, and educational and programmatic outreach to keep the plan vital and successful (Anticipated launch Spring 2018).
