Faculty/Student Grants
Purpose: Designed to facilitate the initiation and/or development of collaborative research or creative activities (RESCA) between students and faculty. Preference will be given to faculty whose proposals demonstrate collaboration with students in the following areas:
- Publications
- Peer-reviewed conference presentations
- Performance/Exhibits
- Pilot project implementation
- Data collection and/or professional development.
Applicant eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, tenured or tenure-track
Maximum award amount: $1,500
Application deadline: November 1st, 2020
ASI Student Research & Travel
Purpose: This grant supports both undergraduate and graduate student research and creative activities and travel related to academic growth and development.
Applicant eligibility: Currently enrolled, undergraduate students with a minimum 2.5 GPA; graduates must have a 3.0 GPA.
Maximum award amount: $1,000
Application deadline: 20th of each month (September - April)
Undergraduate Student Grants
Purpose: Designed to support costs associated with student-based research projects or creative activities (RESCA) pursued outside the classroom.
Applicant eligibility: Students must be in good academic standing, have GPA of 2.5 or above, and be registered full-time in any program at CSUSB.
Maximum award amount: $500
Application deadline (Extended): November 1st, 2020
Minimum GPA: 3.0
SSI Graduate Student Culminating Project Fund
Purpose: This program is designed for graduate students completing a thesis, project, or dissertation. Funds from the SSI Culminating Project Fund, if awarded, must be used to support recipients’ thesis, project, or dissertation research or professional development activities.
Applicant eligibility: Students must be in good academic standing, have GPA 3.0 or above, and be registered full-time in any graduate program at CSUSB.
Maximum award amount: $2,000

Faculty Assigned Time Grant
Purpose: To support faculty conducting RESCA that will contribute to students’ overall educational experience through research and creative activities.
Applicant eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, tenured or tenure-track
Maximum award amount: $4,700
Application deadline: February 16th, 2021
Programs
Undergraduate Summer Research Program (USRP)
Purpose: The USRP is a 10-week, mentored research program that provides funding and resources to support undergraduate students who, under the direct supervision of a faculty mentor, will complete a research project or other scholarly activity related to their field.
Applicant eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, tenured or tenure-track
Maximum award amount: $5,000 faculty stipend, $2,800 student pay and $500 for research materials

Peer Lab Program
Purpose: The function of this program is to schedule regular out-of-class supplemental instruction sessions to assist students in understanding the course material and to improve students’ overall learning and reasoning skills.
Applicant eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, tenured or tenure-track
Maximum award amount: Peer Leader pay $14.85/hr. 10hrs/week.

Peer Research Consultant Program
Purpose: Peer Research Consultants (PRC) assist undergraduates with their research projects for a course. Faculty will select a graduate or undergraduate student to serve as the PRC. The PRC attends all class sessions and lead discussion groups where they assist students with aspects of their research project.
Applicant eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, tenured or tenure-track
Maximum award amount: Peer Leader pay $14.85/hr. 10hrs/week.

STEM en Familia
Purpose: Faculty designs a one-week research experience for RCC students during the summer term.
Applicant eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, tenured or tenure-track from STEM disciplines
Maximum award amount: $2,000 faculty stipend, $300 peer mentor pay

Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program (MMUF)
Purpose: The MMUF is a 2-year program at CSUSB that provides financial support, research mentorship, and assistance with graduate school applications to undergraduate students in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Applicant eligibility: Students must be in good academic standing, have GPA of 3.5 or above, and be interested in pursuing a Ph.D.
Maximum award amount: $15,000

Awards
Faculty Research and Creative Activities Mentor Award
Purpose: The Faculty Research and Creative Activities Mentor Award is awarded annually to one faculty member from each college who exhibits exemplary mentoring. Faculty mentors can be nominated either by themselves, a student, or a colleague.
Applicant eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, tenured or tenure-track
Maximum award amount: $2,000
Application deadline: February 16th, 2021
Outstanding Student Researcher Award
Purpose: The award is designed to acknowledge one graduate and one undergraduate student who has demonstrated exemplary scholastic work in both their academics and research.
Applicant eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate students must be enrolled, and in good academic standing with a GPA of a 3.5 or higher. Must have extensive experience in research or creative activities.
Maximum award amount: $500
Application deadline: February 16th, 2021
Scholarships
Graduate Extended Reality Research Scholarship
Purpose: This scholarship is designed to provide support for spring 2020 for graduate students completing a thesis, project, or dissertation in the general area of immersive reality use.
Applicant eligibility: Students must be in good academic standing, have a GPA of at least 3.0, at candidacy status, and be registered for a thesis or project as their culminating experience.
Maximum award amount: $3000
