Interfraternity Council (IFC) Fraternity Recruitment Process

The Interfraternity Council conducts membership recruitment within the first few weeks of each quarter. Typically, there are a number of informational and social events that all chapters organize to provide interested men the opportunity to meet active members and learn about their organization.

In Fall Quarter, all of the fraternities distribute invitations for membership (commonly called a 'bid') together through the IFC. In and Winter and Spring quarters each chapter develops their own recruitment schedule. We encourage you to ask each organization questions about the recruitment and bid process.

To participate in fraternity recruitment, a man must be enrolled in at least twelve (12) units at CSUSB, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher (Individual chapters may have a higher GPA requirement to join).

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Recruitment Process

The National Pan-Hellenic Council recruit effective leaders that will promote a stronger presence on CSUSB’s campus and the community. Each organization conducts membership intake/selection at various time during the academic year. Membership intake is a 5-6-week process in which qualified candidates obtain membership. To join a NPHC organization, a student must be enrolled in at least twelve (12) units at CSUSB, have a cumulative collage GPA of 2.5 or higher, and be at least a second term freshman (individual chapters may have a higher GPA and unit requirement to join). Interest students are encouraged to ask each organization about their specific requirements.

Panhellenic (PHC) Sorority Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for the Panhellenic sororities is formal and structured. Registration is required, prior to the start of formal recruitment. Participants visit each chapter on the first day of formal recruitment, and fewer chapters each day following until Bid Day.  Recruitment is a mutual selection process between the potential new member and the chapter.  It is strongly recommended that potential new members attend every event during the Formal Recruitment Process to have the opportunity to meet women in each chapter.  To participate in formal recruitment, a woman must be enrolled in at least twelve (12) units at CSUSB, and have a cumulative high school or college GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Panhellenic organizations host informal recruitment event and activities based on the organization’s needs. It is recommended that potential members contact Panhellenic or the induvial organizations for more information.

Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for MGC chapters happens throughout the year. Chapters usually conduct interest meetings that are relatively formal in nature. MGC hosts events and programs for all MGC organizations to collectively engage interested students and provide general information. To join a MGC organization, a student must be enrolled in at least twelve (12) units at CSUSB, and have a cumulative collage GPA of 2.5 or higher (individual chapters may have a higher GPA requirement to join). Some MGC organizations also require students to have at least 12 college units. Interest students are encouraged to ask each organization about their specific requirements.
