Throughout February, CSUSB hosted a variety of in-person and virtual events to celebrate Black History Month. The month-long celebration highlighted the culture, heritage, achievements, and resiliency of the African American community while honoring past and current trailblazers. Departments, programs, and centers in the division participated in the festivities by collaborating and hosting events throughout the month. Student Affairs proudly participated in the annual celebration.

"Black History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of Black/African Americans,” said Anthony Roberson, Santos Manuel Student Union Associate Director of Operations and co-chair of the Black History Month Committee. “It is also a month focused on highlighting key pieces of the Black culture to provide education to future leaders destined to make an impact in the world.”

He added, “Our Black History Month committee created insightful programs to engage critical dialogue and provide meaningful resources within our campus community, including students, faculty, staff, and the community, to ensure we are creating a community of cultural enrichment and cultural competency.”
