Commencement season officially kicked off in early May with the celebration of CSUSB’s affinity graduation ceremonies and concluded on May 22.

The Division of Student Affairs assisted in supporting eight graduation celebrations to honor the accomplishments and experiences of CSUSB graduates from historically underrepresented communities. There were eight CSUSB affinity graduation ceremonies for students: Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA) Grad, Black Grad, Latinx Grad, Native American Grad, Lavender Grad (LGBTQ+), Services to Students with Disabilities Grad, Undocumented Student Success Center Grad, and Veterans Success Center Grad.

These celebrations offered keynote speakers and cultural celebrations separate from CSUSB's Commencement. Graduates had the opportunity to register for the affinity graduation(s) they identified with.

CSUSB hosted Spring Commencement for the Class of 2022 May 20-21. More than 2,830 students were expected to participate in the university’s first live spring commencement since 2019. Four separate ceremonies were held at the Toyota Arena in Ontario:

  • College of Social and Behavioral Sciences: Friday, May 20, 6 p.m.,
  • Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration: Saturday, May 21, 8 a.m.
  • College of Natural Sciences: Saturday, May 21, 1 p.m.
  • College of Arts and Letters and the College of Education: Saturday, May 21, 6 p.m.

Spring Commencement was offered both in person and live-streamed. CSUSB wanted to ensure friends and families of the graduates had an opportunity to participate in the Commencement festivities. For those who were unable to attend Commencement in person, a live stream was available during the ceremonies on the Commencement website. A recording of each of the four ceremonies is also now available on the website.
