[ Music ] >> Diversity at CSUSB is greater than that of any place in the inland empire. When a classroom is diverse and there are all kinds of different people in there, and a different sort of professor, someone that doesn't have the same skin tone as you or that comes from a different faith or region of the world, you learn other things. And there are so many other takeaways. You learn how to be more compassionate. You learn why people look at things differently than you do. There is no student that can come to this campus and not see themselves successful. Because there's a version of every single student on this campus that is teaching your class or running a department or an administrator of the campus itself that is doing something extraordinary on a very big level. And doing it well. That looks like you, that speaks your language, and that has lived a life experience similar to yours. Diversity expands student education in a number of ways. But the most important one is when you have coursework and one of your professors is Pakistani and another one is from Latin America. And you have an African American counselor. And then other students that are very similar to you or that are different but you're friend with all of these different folks. When you see the world in your environment, then you imagine your future environment being worldly. [ Music ] [ Howling ]
