Brown College Business and Public Administration] [ Music, JHBC Department of Marketing] [ Music, Surrounded by family at home, at CSUSB] >> Being a CSUSB student is more than I could have imagined when I was in high school. It's such a great environment being there. What drew me to CSUSB and what I love about it as well was the business program, and also it has a pretty nice scenery right there on the mountain and stuff. I love to talk to people and I love business. Business is never going to go away. And so I kind of put two and two together and I wanted to do something in sales or something in marketing. Found out that CSUSB has a great business program, one of the best in the country. Started majoring in marketing and I literally love it. That's what I want to pursue when I'm older. I want to be a pharmaceutical salesman and I think that CSUSB's doing a really good job with making me a great business student. Being a first-gen, for my parents, they've always been so proud of me and they always encourage me and stuff, and it's the whole reason why I keep going. Being a first-gen, to my grandma, it means a lot to her because she's seen me ever since I was born and she's seen me become like this adult figure. And they're all just so proud of me and that's what keeps me going honestly like all the time. Sometimes I think of giving up or doing something else with my life but that's what keeps me going every single day. >> It's a very happy feeling inside, especially in me, because no one in my family go to the college like him. I think he's the first one. He's going to be a good example for the rest of my grandkids. >> Family is super important to me. In the Latino culture, family is the most important and then everything else comes. My family actually means so much to me that I come to my grandma's house for lunch twice a week, whether that's a school break or that's a lunch break from work. Family's just always been number one, always been raised like that and wouldn't want to have it any other way. I would say that I feel the family environment on the CSUSB campus almost all the time. Whenever you're walking around campus, everyone always says hey. Hello. How you doing? In my department at work, everyone's always super friendly. We always get along. Whenever you're going like to SMSU, the student center, anywhere, everyone's always so welcoming and I always feel that family aspect. My name is Manny Castaneda. I love CSUSB and I'm a Coyote for life. [ Coyote Howl , We Define the Future, CSUSB]
