California State University San Bernardino >> [ Speaking ] Adonis Galarza-Toledo, Public Administration You asked me if I would do CSUSB all over again. My answer to you is: in a heartbeat. Our students at CSUSB are hungry, hardworking. And most importantly, I think it comes down to the culture and the core nature of who we are as people, the staff that are always willing to help. You know, the people that come to Cal State San Bernardino are always full of life and full of joy and, you know, are always willing to help one another. When I was ASI president, something that I took really dear to me was making sure that the students' voices were heard. I made it my mission that I didn't want to be a stereotype. I didn't want to be another statistic. And in fact, I wanted to help my community break through from those statistics. And a way to do that for me was to go get educated and eventually come back. In the Coachella Valley Unified School District, I serve as a trustee, as a board member of the governing board of the school board. Essentially, what my role as a trustee is really to ensure that the community's voices and community is being taken into account when making decisions -- not only the community, but the students' best interest. What made me go back to my community after graduation, I go back to my initial purpose of why I came out here. I knew that because of the experiences that I had at CSUSB and the tools that I acquired while being a student here at CSUSB, I knew I was ready to take on the challenge and be of service to my community. Every single day, every single second that I spent here at Cal State San Bernardino is really well worth it, and I thank CSUSB for setting me up for success post-graduation. My name is Adonis Galarza-Toledo. I love CSUSB, and I'm a Coyote for life. [ Coyote Howl ] We Define the Future CSUSB
