National Student Clearinghouse

CSUSB is in partnership with the National Student Clearinghouse (NSCH). This agency is a national student information warehouse that provides enrollment and degree information to inquirers. A service fee is charged for each verification. Please visit the National Student Clearinghouse website for more information.

Degree Verifications for Employers

NSCH is the preferred method for verifying degree and enrollment information. If a student’s information is unavailable through NSCH, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 909-537-5200, option 2 to reach our Records department. 



In-School Deferment

Every term CSUSB will update enrollment information with NSCH. This information will be provided automatically to lenders verifying in-school status. If you encounter an issue with your in-school status as reported by the NSCH, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 909-537-5200.

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)

CSUSB adheres to strict FERPA guidelines. No information may be released about a student without written consent from that student.

Institutional or Personal Blocks

Please note that NSCH will honor institutional blocks that prevent the release of student information. If a student’s information is unavailable because of an institutional or personal block, please refer this information back to the student. If you are the student and would like to discuss removing a personal block, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 909-537-5200, option 2 to reach the Records department for further details.

Information Release Disclosure

NSCH is an authorized third party that may verify only unrestricted information about a student to an inquirer. Unrestricted information is limited to name, date of birth, dates of attendance, major, degrees awarded and conferral dates. Social Security Numbers and Grade Point Averages are never sent to an inquirer on NSCH. If you are a student and have questions or concerns regarding this service, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 909-537-5200, option 2 to reach the Records department.

Enrollment Verifications

Official enrollment verifications, embosed with the University's school seal, can be provided by the Registration Office in UH-171 for a $4 service fee. Unofficial enrollment verifications are available to students, free of charge, on the myCoyote Student Center page, under 'other academic'.

Enrollment Verifications with Mode of Instruction

This request is by online submission. This process provides an official enrollment/degree verification including mode of instruction (i.e. nature of course content: online, in-classroom, hybrid, etc.) and with the university seal and Registrar's signature in a PDF format. The fee for this service is $4.00 per single verification processed. Receipt of payment AND a release of educational records (i.e. written consent) is required for processing. Please be certain to include the student's full name, student identification number, date of birth and the student's signature approving this release. Please complete the information below and allow a minimum of 2 - 4 business days for processing.
