
Overview
The Addiction Studies Certificate Program is designed to prepare students to meet the professional requirements to practice as a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor in the state of California. Program Details:
- Complete the program in 1 year!
- This program is comprised of 13 condensed extension credit courses:
- 4 blocks of courses that consist of 3 courses each
- Students are not required to start the program with Block 1
- A 250 hour supervised practicum
- Students will be assisted with finding an internship site
- 4 blocks of courses that consist of 3 courses each
- Weekend courses
- Class sessions occur on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm PST
- Enjoy flexibility with hybrid courses
- 4 courses must be attended in-person
- The remaining courses can either be attended via Zoom or in person
- A college degree is not necessary to participate in this program; however, a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required
- The program costs a total of $6,875, but tuition is broken down per course block:
- Block 1 - $1,650
- Block 2 - $1,375
- Block 3 - $1,650
- Block 4 - $1,375
- Supervised practicum - $825
- Financing options are available
- Unfortunately, financial aid cannot be used toward this program
- Department of Rehabilitation and other workforce agencies may cover the cost of the program, if applicable
Rationale:
The Addiction Studies Certificate Program provides a comprehensive educational program in the field of addiction studies which will prepare and allow students to take the state licensing examination upon completion. This program can be completed in one year, which is half the time that it would take at comparable institutions. The shorter time frame also equates to half of the cost of comparable institutions. Upon completion of this program, students will meet the requirements and be prepared to apply for CCAPP, CAADE, or CADPT certifications. These certifications can substantially increase earning potential.
