What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? A piece of advice I would give to a freshman is to not slack off in the first semester. To not take a few classes just to get the hang of it because eventually that will put them behind a have fewer units than others.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? The library because there is study rooms that you could go in to have time to study by yourself or with friends.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? Challenge yourself. Follow your instincts even if they are wrong because you can at least say you tried.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? Do as much research on the major you choose as you possibly can before actually committing to it. You may find that it is not a correct fit for you or it may give you even more reason to choose that major that you want. Also to try and make friends with staff as soon as possible. It's good to be friends with the people who work on campus because they usually know a lot and can teach you a bunch.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? The 5th floor of the John Pfau library because of the absolute silence and view of the entire campus.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? My favorite spot on campus will have to be the third floor of the Center for Global Innovation, the outside patio looking towards to the mountains.

What do you like about CSUSB? I love the view of the mountains CSUSB has from the Center for Global Innovation. I like how kind and helpful the students are on campus and willing to interact with other students. I also like the resources campus has to offer for all the students

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? My favorite place on campus is probably the Student Union because not only can you buy food, but it is the perfect spot to either hang out with some friends, work on any homework you have, or just people watch.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? My favorite place on campus is the gym because it is a place where I have the opportunity to relax and exercise with friends. I enjoy playing basketball as well, and another fun activity that the gym offers is rock climbing, I encourage many people to stop by and try out the gym during their free time!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? I would say make sure to learn your campus resources, CSUSB offers a lot of different resources for all types of students! There may be something on campus that can help you out of a tight situation!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? Do not be afraid of forming new friendships, as these friendships can be a great support in your academic, professional, and personal lives. Your friendships or even acquaintances can also enable you to easily network. Ultimately, get out of your comfort zone and try new things because this will help shape your success.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? My favorite place on campus is the Legacy Fountain by the PE buildings, because the sound of the water relaxes me, plus the flowers on the trees are super cute.

What do you like about CSUSB? I love the faculty and how welcoming they are. They are extremely supportive and want to see us succeed. I remember emailing a faculty member late at night and actually receiving a response in less than 10 minutes. It is truly amazing to see how dedicated the faculty are on campus.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? As soon as you step foot on campus find a way to volunteer and create connections with the campus. Also interact with your professors and especially those in your major because making that connection will only open up more options throughout your journey in CSUSB.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? My favorite place on campus is the Rock Shed, it’s between the Biology building and Lot N. It's my favorite place because that’s where the majority of the rock/mineral collections are located and where the rock saw is located that cuts open rocks for study.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? One piece of advice I would give a first year or transfer student would be to not be afraid of asking questions. If you’re confused, chances are someone else is also confused and you’ll be helping each other out.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? CSUSB is your campus where you can feel included no matter what your education background, ethnicity, religion, or gender may be. Take these years to show youself, not just your ordinary self, but your true inner-self. When encountering challenges do your best and have hope for the best. Growth has the "-ow" in it for a reason. No matter how painful hard work or challenging times may be, there will always room for growth.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? My favorite place on campus is the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art because it has really cool pieces of art & history and not a lot of people visit it (besides for their class) so it’s quiet and you are able to enjoy the exhibits at your own pace. Plus, there are some exhibits that are changed or switched out every 3 months so it always has something new and different.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? I would say enjoy your years in CSUSB because they will go really fast. Also, make friends because you are going to need someone's help once in a while.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? My favorite place on campus is the picnic/grass area between University Hall and the Performing Arts building. I always make sure to bring a yoga mat or a blanket to campus because this is my preferred study spot. It's also a pretty place to eat lunch in between classes.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? Getting out of your comfort zone is one of the best things you can do in college. You can never see how much you truly grow, unless you try something new.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? Get involved with clubs, organizations, volunteer work on campus, or even get a job on campus. By putting yourself out there, you'll gain many opportunities and connections to further your education and career. Also, take advantage of all the resources that campus has to offer, such as the Recreation and Wellness Center, the Health Center, professor's office hours, and so much more.

My favorite place on campus is the health center because it is easy to access when you are in need of help and you don't have time to go to your primary doctor. It is also my favorite place because the staff are all very helpful there, and if you need a prescription, you can buy it for a discounted price at their pharmacy.

What do you like about CSUSB? I like our campus environment. I think that our campus is extremely welcoming and full of amazing students that are always open to helping each other. Our campus dynamic is like no other and our campus community is full of diversity and acceptance.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? For me personally my favorite spot on this campus is the Student Union. I have so many great memories in there with friends because that is what we all chose to meet up. Like I have memories of dying on the floor from laughter and no one in the whole building batting an eye at us. The SU just gives off such an inviting vibe and it makes it a great place to be.
