There are many ways to get involved with OLLI
In addition to taking fascinating courses and participating in fun events, many of our members also volunteer. There are lots of flexible options to share your time and talents in a way that meets your interests and schedule. We rely on the active engagement and leadership of our members. Please consider where you might fit in.
How the process works:
After submitting your interest form, you can expect a phone call from the volunteer coordinator to discuss your interests and background. Then, you'll receive the position description with more detail so you can consider the fit and expectations for the role. The next step is to talk with the committee chair and possibly sit in on a meeting. If there's a good fit, you'll be in line to join a committee as space is available (generally, transitions occur on July 1).

Ambassadors
This is a great role for those who love to socialize and meet new people. Tasks include greeting members, taking attendance, and addressing other needs of the class. Read more about being an Ambassador
Curriculum
At the core of our Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is curriculum planning. As a member of this committee, you will help recruit instructors, solicit course proposals, and assist with the selection and scheduling of OLLI courses. Read more about the Curriculum Committee
Development
A sustainable OLLI requires resources beyond what we collect from membership and course fees. Assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising initiatives to help OLLI continue to grow and thrive. Read more about the Development Committee
Marketing

Membership

Shared Interest Groups
Maybe you’d like to coordinate a discussion group to explore a subject at a deeper level. As an interest group coordinator, you can determine the discussion platform, meeting frequency and location. Training and support are provided to help you get started. Read more about Shared Interest Groups
Teach
The ultimate volunteer experience! If you are current or retired faculty or have an area of expertise that you are passionate about, let’s talk. We’re always interested in offering new courses. The first step is to submit a course proposal and your resume.

Travel
Share your love of travel to help us plan and promote fun, educational trips for our OLLI members. Help us research travel companies and tour options, both far and near, to provide unique learning experiences that meet the interests of our members. Read more about the Travel Committee
