Library Resources for Students

Accessibility

Pfau offers accessibility resources for students that need proper accommodations for their learning.

Training

Students can attend online instructional workshops about accessing articles online, finding ebooks, using online primary sources and much more.

Ask A Librarian Virtual Chat

Students can contact librarians through virtual chat services scheduled during regular operational hours. Additionally, there is a 24-hour Ask A Librarian (non-CSUSB librarians) chat service through Live Online Reference.

Ask a librarian opens a chat window similar to text messages.          Form displaying required information to ask a question of a 24 hour librarian.

Research Appointments

Students can schedule 30-minute research appointment times with librarians specialized in diverse subject areas. Students can also contact departmental librarians liaisons for assistance with complex projects. Students will select a desired staff member (or select no preference), choose a date, and select a meeting time, to book an appointment.

Options for research appointments are shown.

Library Guides

Students can search for resources, research assistance, topic, subject areas, etc., through compiled guides created by CSUSB librarians, such as: Citation Styles, Free Software for Student Success, Affordable Learning Solutions, Coronavirus Resources, and more.

A range of research assistance links are shown.

Library Loans (ILLIAD)

Students can request articles, books, media through Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) that are not available through Pfau. Only articles and book chapter requests are being processed at this time, not physical materials.

To submit a request, students must first log in to their MyCoyote account before accessing the ILLiad portal. The ILLiad portal can be found on the library’s home page under Quick Links, Request Interlibrary Loan.

Upon entry to ILLiad, on the panel located on the left, select the option for “New Request.”

Options for requesting a new Interlibrary Loan are shown.

Students are required to provide the necessary information (denoted by a red asterisk) for the item request, such as journal title and article title. Additionally, information such as volume, issue number or designation, month, year, etc. may also be provided as well.
