Outlook 2016 - Sending email from another address (division, department, or organization)

As an alternative to the procedure provided here, Microsoft provides a video on how to send from a shared mailbox in Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016.

Procedure

  1. Compose New Email.

  2. Look for the the From drop down field.  If it is not there, go to the Options tab and select From from Show Fields to enable it.

  3. Click the From drop-down menu and select Other E-mail Address…

  4. Type the from address you want to add and click the OK button.

  5. To compose a message, click the From drop-down menu and select the address you have permission to.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter an error similar to the following, you are likely missing the appropriate Send As permissions.

This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user. Error is [0x80070005-0x0004dc-0x000524].
