Maintenance and Technology Requests

Maintenance

It is the goal of the Department of Housing and Residential Education to maintain each community in good conditions for current and future residents! We will promptly remedy maintenance and repair issues as they are brought to our attention. DHRE offers maintenance service 24 hours a day for emergenices only, all other requests will be serviced during normal business hours. If there is a maintenance emergency after hours and/or during the weekend students may contact the RA on Duty for their area. 

*Items considered maintenance emergencies may include: flooding, loss of electricity, potential breach to building security, loss of central heating and cooling, loss of hot water, etc. 

Maintenance Requests

If there is a maintenance request issue in a room or apartment, students can submit a maintenance request via the "Submit a Work Order" link below. Please contact our Housing Annex at (909) 537-5246 during regular business hours if you have any questions. 

*The "Submit a Work Order" link is only available from an on-campus internet connection and it will not appear if you try to access from off-campus.

Using Technology When Living on Campus

Computers, phones, tablets can all be connected to our campus network without needing any additional support.  For wireless connection, these devices use our Eduroam wireless network.  Simply sign in using your CSUSB credentials as shown below and you'll be connected immediately.

Connecting an Android to Eduroam

Step 1: Select Eduroam from the list of available wireless networks

Step 2: Set EAP method to PEAP and Phase 2 Authentication to MSCHAPV2

Step 3: Enter username and password (MyCoyote Credentials)

e.g. identity - YourCoyoteID@csusb.edu password- Your MyCoyote Password

Step 4: Click connect to complete the wireless connection process.

Connecting iPhone to Eduroam

Step 1: Select Eduroam from the list of available wireless networks

Step 2: Enter Username and Password (MyCoyote Credentials) and then click JOIN

e.g. identity - YourCoyoteID@csusb.edu password- Your MyCoyote Password

Step 3: Click accept to complete the wireless connection process. 

Connecting a Windows PC to Eduroam

Step 1: Select Eduroam from the list of available wireless newtorks
Step 2: Enter your CSUSB crednetials in to the network prompt 

Username: CoyoteID@csusb.edu (***NOTE: Please be sure to enter @csusb.edu)
Password: You CSUSB password

Step 3: Select Connect.
Step 4: A screen will appear asking if you want to continue connecting. Click Connect to acknowledge the screen and connect to eduroam.

Connecting a Macbook to Eduroam

Step 1: Click the Wi-Fi icon on the Status menu to display the available Wi-Fi networks.
Step 2: Select eduroam.
Step 3: Choose Automatic mode and insert the following:

Username: CoyoteID@csusb.edu (***NOTE: Please be sure to enter @csusb.edu)
Password: You CSUSB password

Step 4: Select Join.
Step 5: At the Verify Certificate window, select Continue.
Step 6: At the window stating You are making changes to your Certificate Trust Settings. Type your password to allow this. Input your computer account & password and click Update Settings

Connecting Smart TVs, Gaming Consoles and Media Streaming Devices

These devices cannot sign directly in to the wireless networks on campus and need additional configurations to connect.  For a wireless connection, these devices use the CSUSB-DEVICES wireless network. 

To start the connection process, you must first fill out the Connect Device to Campus Network form.  You can also find this form on the left hand side of the Housing website.  Please make sure to read the instructions and fill the form out completely. Click submit and wait to be contacted by the Technology Support Center.

Arrowhead, Coyote and University Village allow for connecting devices via a wireless or wired connections. Each bedroom has ONE available wired connection for student use. Ethernet cable is not provided. 

Serrano Village is wireless only. To get to the internet, your device must be able to connect to a wireless network.
