Determining Eligibility

To be eligible for federal student aid, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • Accepted for Admission and enrolled in an eligible degree or credential program
  • Most programs require student show demonstrated financial need · as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Be registered with Selective Service if student is male
  • Have a Social Security number
  • Have a high school diploma or recognized equivalent requirement
  • Not be in default on any student loan or owe a refund on any grant made under the Title IV program
  • Meets Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements
  • Cannot submit false, misleading or incomplete information to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
