R is an open-source statistical language and environment for statistical computing. The Institute on R, facilitated by Dr. Michael Tsiang (Statistics Department, UCLA) will overview the R environment, teach participants the basics of statistical computing in R, and discuss classroom strategies for teaching R. The aim of the Institute is to provide participants with sufficient knowledge so that they are able to continue building on what they know once the Institute is over.
The Institute is open to any campus faculty, staff, and graduate students.
The Institute assumes basic knowledge of statistics at an introductory course level and no prior statistical computing experience. Please bring your laptop with R and RStudio Desktop installed. To download R and RStudio, please see instructions at Edx: Foundations of Data Analysis
