Can students drive themselves to the University?

Yes, students may drive themselves to campus. We encourage you to leave your vehicle at home.

A valid parking permit is required at all times – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The daily parking permits rate is $6.00 (Monday thru Friday at 5:00 pm). The weekend daily parking permit rate is $3.00 (valid beginning on Friday at 5:01 pm thru Sunday).
A summer parking permit is $57 for a 6-week session. Since CFS is a fully residential program and students will leave campus on weekends, we encourage students to leave their cars at home.

In case of an emergency during the program, students can contact the University Police Department at 909-537-7777 or 9-1-1.

Yes, we have planned a variety of events and activities for students in Coyote First STEP each evening during the first two-weeks of the residential component of the program.

What are the eating arrangements?

What are the eating arrangements?

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included and will be provided by Coyote First STEP at designated times and locations.

Our Campus Dining Services offers a variety of delicious and nutritious meals during Coyote First STEP.

If you have dietary restrictions please complate the Dietary Needs Survey that is sent after enrollment. It must be completed at least two weeks prior to Coyote First STEP session to accommodate your needs.

Students will engage in essential programming most evenings during the two weeks while living on campus, but there will be plenty of opportunities for free time to engage in activities of their own choosing.

Once students arrive on campus for the first two weeks of Coyote First STEP, they are expected to remain on campus while living in the residence halls. However, students will return home on the weekend (Thursday evening through Sunday evening). For the remaining four weeks while students commute, they are expected to attend any required activity.

Students can bring cash, but it is not required. It is not advisable for students to bring excessive amounts of cash with them. Students may use cash for video games or to purchase small snacks at the Santos Manuel Student Union.

Will students be removed from the Coyote First STEP summer program for behavior?

Students are required to abide by the University Student Conduct Code which is signed by all students. If there is a violation of the Student Conduct Code students may be dismissed from the program. In the case of dismissal from the program, a parent or guardian will be required to come to CSUSB and pick up the student.

Can I use my Coyote OneCard to make purchases while living on campus during Coyote First STEP?

Yes! You will receive your Coyote OneCard when you arrive on campus for your Early Start math (Coyote First STEP) session. Visit Student Financial Services - Meal Plans for information about adding funds to your Coyote OneCard and locations where you may use your card.

Coyote OneCard? What is that?

The Coyote OneCard is the official California State University San Bernardino identification card. It provides proof of University enrollment and/or employment. You will receive your Coyote OneCard when you check-in for your Early Start math (Coyote First STEP) session. 

The Coyote OneCard it's not just an ID, it also functions as a:

Meal Card - If you live in the dorms and are on a meal plan

Library Card - Library access number located on back of card

Fitness Card - For Rec Sports Center access

Medical Card - For access to Student Health Center services

Debit/Print Card - By adding funds to your Coyote One Card it becomes a purchasing/printing card.
